Real Detroit’s weekly Four Track column featured a look at Detroit rappers as baseball players. Tom Matich delivers this:
Royce Da 5’9” (Pitcher) — When it comes to throwing hot rocks, there is no one blazin’ like Royce right now. He’s like Wild Thing from Major League mixed with the crazy style of Dontrell Wilis.
Buff 1 (Slugger) — This guy is all power when he steps on to the plate. He was on AML farm team for a while, but now his rookie card, PURE, is sure to make him a collector’s item.
Phat Kat (Short Stop) — He’s the Derek Jeter of Detroit, you can always rely on him for solid GRA (Guest Rap Appearance) and his Carte Blanche album is sure to go out the park.
Bareda aka Mr. Wrong (First Baseman) — Bareda is a towering force on the plate and his knack for catching club and street hits is a testament to his flexibility.
Black Milk (Catcher) — Like Pudge, Black is determined to bring Detroit a ring and he brings out the best in his teammates with his motivational music.Sicknotes (Designated Hitter) — If you’re in a need of a hit, the team of Witt and Pep should be always be on deck. Last year, they hit a grand slam with Obie Trice’s “Cry Now” and they looked great in spring training with new joints from K Deezy and Bareda.
