Someone is trying to sell some books.
In an unofficial new book, Dr Dre: The Biography, Ronin Ro writes Dre auditioned songs he worked on with Eminem for black employees, leaving them puzzled as to why he’d sign a white rapper.
The label’s general manager also tried to talk Dre out of signing Em, saying: “Look, this guy is blond with blue eyes. What are you doing?’ ”
But they couldn’t change Dre’s mind, with him signing the star because “he felt Eminem had talent.”
However, a representative for Dre has denied the claims, blasting the book as “an uninformed, speculative piece of nonsense”.
